Our Mission

Preparing people for the Presence and Purpose of Jesus.

Our Vision

To become a body that loves God supremely, loves others sacrificially, and lives life supernaturally until earth looks like heaven and Jesus receives the full reward of His suffering.

How We Live

Our cultural values.

These convictions shape how we gather, grow, and serve together.

01

Passionate Worship

Encountering God through authentic, heartfelt worship in every gathering.

02

Serious Study

Rooting ourselves deeply in God’s Word through intentional learning and teaching.

03

Fervent Prayer

Cultivating prayer as the foundation of everything we do.

04

Active Obedience

Moving from hearing to living, with faith expressed through everyday action.

05

Intentional Outreach

Reaching our community with the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Our Story

A testimony of God’s faithfulness.

From a call to serve our hometown to a growing church family, every chapter points back to what God has done.

2009

Called Back to Roxboro

God called Chase and Evelyn Chambers away from training for the mission field and back to the mission field of their hometown. With a building, a small group of people, and a passion for the community, they began preaching, teaching, making disciples, baptizing believers, and going door to door with the Gospel.

2009-2012

Making Room for the Next Generation

God continued adding faithful people who shared the vision for reaching the community. Through generous volunteers, the gathering space was renovated, children’s ministry areas were expanded, and a playground and basketball court were added to create places where young people could grow in faith and encounter Jesus.

2013

A Culture of Worship

God stirred a new freedom, passion, and expectancy among the church. A team of young people and adults rose to serve in worship and ministry, cultivating wholehearted praise and a genuine hunger for the Presence of Jesus that would shape the church for years to come.

2016

Overflow Became Our Name and Mandate

The Lord made it clear that encountering His abundant life also meant sharing that life with others. “Overflow” became the church’s name and mandate, John 10:10 became a foundational verse, and “Loving God, Loving Others, and Living Life to the Fullest” expressed the mission of that season.

2017+

Expanding Our Capacity and Reach

God opened doors to acquire adjoining abandoned properties, beautify the community, and create room for future ministry. Overflow expanded its outreach and began livestreaming its gatherings. Even through the uncertainty of the 2020 pandemic, God remained faithful and His work continued.

Today

Preparing a People

Overflow remains committed to preaching the Gospel, teaching God’s Word, making disciples, and baptizing believers in the name of Jesus. Through a growing team of leaders and volunteers, God continues preparing a People for the Presence and Purpose of Jesus.

The story is far from over. It is just beginning.

Every changed life, provision, open door, and challenge overcome points back to God. We believe He is still raising up harvesters from every tribe, tongue, and nation. The fields are ripe, the world still needs the Gospel, and by His grace, we believe the best is yet to come.

What We Believe

Rooted in biblical truth.

Our foundational beliefs guide our teaching, worship, and life together.

God

We believe there is only one true God, the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself as one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments serve as our rule of faith and practice.

Humanity

We believe humanity was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him. Through humanity’s rejection of God, sin, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world, and creation now experiences sin’s effects and consequences.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, rose again, ascended into heaven, and is alive in the presence of the Father and in His people by the Holy Spirit. He is fully God and fully man.

Salvation

We believe we are saved by God’s grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent with the Father and the Son. Through His indwelling presence, believers are sanctified, healed, delivered, made whole, and empowered to live holy lives and demonstrate the gospel.

We believe the baptism and ongoing filling of the Holy Spirit empower believers to be God’s witnesses, bearing both the fruit and gifts of the Spirit.

The Church

We believe the Church consists of all who have put their faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His Church baptism by immersion and communion. The Church exists as His body to continue His ministry, advance His kingdom, proclaim the gospel, and disciple the nations.

Things to Come

We believe in the glorious, visible return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His Church. Heaven and hell are real, and there will be a resurrection of the just and the unjust, one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.
